We knew as soon as we had coffee together the first time that we had a similar passion for engaging and empowering young people and wanted to work together is some way. In the beginning, we partnered up to grow our separate youth initiatives GIRLVANA and VARS/TY and soon realized that our work was not limited to youth. We understood that work set a good foundation for a collaborative effort to build an even more amazing community of like-minded people that are interested good vibes and in living a healthier lifestyle. This is how Distrikt came to fruition. We knew that it took a ‘village to raise kids’ so we wanted to be a part of creating that village. We wanted to live and sweat with the people in the village and help make the village a better place to be.
Our signature class features the perfect blend of HIIT and yoga. Come with your sneakers on and get ready to Crush your workout and then follow it up with the Hush- a yoga sequence that will ease your mind and muscles. On Fridays we add Beer from Deep Cove Craft to the mix to solidify the perfect Friday evening. Ideal for yogis looking to build strength and cardio or the fitness types who are intimidated by yoga. Either way, you will get it all in and done in 75 minutes.
This is not an ugly sweater meet up group. Be ready to squat, squat medicine balls, sprint, and do some burpees. It’s a full hour of high intensity interval training to rap music + good company. everyone is welcome, come get ugly.
You can expect all your favourite High Intensity Interval Training movements minus the running. The is the perfect class for you if you love to burpee, squat and thrust but you hate our "garbage runs."

By focusing on strength from your center, Triple Sweat builds the foundation of balance and flexibility to tone your whole body from the inside out.
This is your chance to let loose and Strut your stuff. Strut is an all-level dance fitness class, focusing on building confidence and a sexy style through whole body dance movement. Join Stephanie, a 4-season veteran dancer for NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers, as she breaks down how to move all parts of your body and tone different muscle groups. Strut combines dance conditioning with dance routines. Each class you will learn a new dance combo, helping to strengthen your dance ability and knowledge. Whether you are preparing for an upcoming audition, looking to be more confident with dance, or just want to sweat with your girlfriends – Strut is the class for you!
Girlvana Yoga is an initiative to get teen girls practicing yoga and meditation. Our mission is to create string, heartfelt young women. We lead bi-annual retreats to Galiano Island where girls are immersed in mindfulness practices, self discovery, movement, nature, crafts, mentorship and so much more. Weekly afterschool classes. Open to girls 13-18.
You’ve been working hard all week, this is your hour to forget about everything and punch some things. This class combines boxing pad work with short bursts of interval training using bodyweight movements. Expect to have sweaty hands, a stronger core, learn to punch and feel like you just won at life.
We offer both FLOW and POWER yoga. In our flow classes you can expect to start with a little pep talk, followed by fluid movement and intelligent sequencing all set to a perfectly curated playlist . We pride ourselves on fresh music selections, a good sense of humour and non intimidating atmosphere. Our power classes are basically FLOW but on crack. The studio is warmer, the poses are harder and the holds are longer. Either way you will leave feeling chill, open and ready for what the world throws at you.
